Voices Beyond Boundaries: Bridges Built in Brushstrokes
Group Exhibition
Sasse Museum of Art
May 1 – June 27, 2026
[Pomona, May 2026] – Sasse Museum of Art presents Voices Beyond Boundaries: Bridges Built in Brushstrokes, a group exhibition featuring fifteen contemporary artists whose diverse practices demonstrate that meaningful connection emerges not from erasing difference, but from creating spaces where distinct voices can coexist and converse. Working across painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and mixed media, the exhibition is on view from May 1 to June 27, 2026.
Voices Beyond Boundaries guides viewers through three conceptual sections: Voices of Disruption, Voices of What Remains, and Voices of Reflection. Together, these sections create a journey from the impact of change, through what deconstruction carries forward, to a reflective threshold—a visionary doorway to empowerment and purpose.
Exhibiting artists: Christine Walker, Delbar Azari, Aazam Irilian, Kayla Tange, Laura Corallo-Titus, Emily Shepard, Katherine Filice, Aline Mare, Catherine Ruane, Ada Pullini Brown, Arminée Chahbazian, Shelley Heffler, Charlie Milgrim, Lauren Mendelsohn-Bass, and Ellen Friedlander.
About the CuratorVoices Beyond Boundaries is curated by Aazam Irilian, a contemporary abstract artist and longtime member of Startup Studio, a vibrant artist community that has been gathering since the early days of the pandemic. Drawing from this network, Irilian has brought together works that explore how creative expression moves across cultural, material, and conceptual boundaries. Startup Studio maintains an active database of artists and organizes exhibitions, pop-ups, and collaborative events that transform virtual connections into meaningful opportunities in the physical art world.
