Award winning American artist working primarily with ink on paper.
Curator Review: I Remember “Eloquent and imaginative, this piece gently imprints itself in the mind as the defining title suggests. Condensed outlines construct the flowing shapes in a fresh, liberated manner and Filice’s singular use of color further expounds on this ‘release’. This innovative interpretation of a memory has been diligently executed and showcases the artistry and spirit of artist Katherine Filice” —E.E. Jacks

Artist Statement: Pulled apart, pulled away, an explosion...and no way back. "Aftermath" is a chaotic narrative about collective social trauma and a specific reaction to a mass shooting in the US (in my hometown of Gilroy). The complexity of thought, the quiet, the loud, the myriad of emotions that flood through our dreams, jolt us awake in the dark hours of the night; the emotions that guide our days...the people, the noise...the defiance, the love, the rising up—forever changed, forever harmed, forever loved 🦋
